The following problems were faced by us while making the Can-Crusher:

  • The first model was a failure, since the motor was not selected carefully. It produced very high RPM with negligible torque, thus unable to crush the can and endangering the safety of people around the device.

  • After replacing the previous motor with another one with very high torque and reduced RPM, the device wasn't able to achieve the aim. This indicated that there were problems with the dimensions, geometry or alignment of parts while manufacturing.

  • The dimensions provided for the project were too small and larger dimensions were required for making improvements.
